Pharma sector told to adopt digital tech

Visakhapatnam: CII Andhra Pradesh and CII-Tata Communications Centre for Digital Transformation on Tuesday organised a seminar on building sustainability, efficiency resilience to help the pharma sector leverage the technology changes towards building profitability and sustainability and become next gen industries of the future.
In his welcome address, Neeraj Sarda, CII AP chairman, emphasised that "for decisions to be well informed and inclusive, all stakeholders need to understand the benefits and risks of digital technologies. The opportunities for human progress in the digital age ultimately outweigh the challenges-if we join together in a spirit of cooperation and inclusiveness."
Dr PP Lal Krishna, CII zonal vice-chairman and Managing Director of Ramky Pharma City, stressed on the need for digital transformation and cyber security for every company.
Anant Barbadikar, MD and COO, India Operations, PharmaZell (india) Pvt. Ltd in his address shared the challenges being faced by the pharma sector. He said that one should look at peripheral areas like warehousing and supply chain as candidates for digital transformation as sometimes starting with core can be a daunting task.
